We’re going to build from the fundamentals up. We start by understanding the head, sections and control, then build into the fundamental principles of haircutting — line, graduation, layering and shapes — and learn how those principles can be combined and applied to different haircuts, textures and people. Our education isn't only about technical ability but building individuality. Throughout the program, we’ll continue developing the four pillars of Haru Akademi. Intermediate + Advanced classes require understanding in everything stated above.

You can watch a tutorial, learn somebody’s technique and recreate somebody’s work. We wanted to create something that teaches you how to understand what you’re doing & what makes your work unique—and eventually make those decisions for yourself . That’s what CORE is about. God created each of us with a unique perspective. Our job isn’t to tell you what yours should look like. Our job is to give you the tools, fundamentals, references and guidance to help you discover it.
If six artists come through Haru Akademi, we want to see six different artists developing.
THE HAIRCUT SHOULD FIT THE PERSON.
We don’t believe in forcing a haircut onto somebody because it’s technically correct or because it’s trending. We want you to understand the person sitting in front of you, then use your technical foundation and your perspective as an artist to solve that problem.
